About

Michelle has recently escaped a desolate land, fleeing to the freezing north with her dark wizard, her unicorn, and her feline overlord. Despite certain stereotypes you may be familiar with, the dark wizard is not holding her captive, nor does the unicorn require virgin riders. The feline overlord, however, may well be evil.

She holds dual BAs in English and Philosophy, which has gotten her about as far as you would expect it to in life. Despite all evidence to the contrary, she’s still desperately holding out hope that in an alternate reality she’s a sword-wielding princess.

Despite her millennial origins, the author is tragically bad at social media, and no amount of instruction has thus far been able to improve her performance. She nonetheless dutifully has presences on Bluesky, Instagram, and Facebook. She is mostly present on Bluesky. Instagram and Facebook will reliably be updated on release days and Big News Events days. Otherwise, she makes no promises.

Authors I Recommend

I’ve long debated whether I should have a recommends section on here, but the truth is I found most of the authors I love from them being recommended by other authors I’d read, so I’m going to pop this here. All links lead to the author’s website, with the exception of Nikita Gill. She did not have an independent website I could find, so I’ve linked her name to her listing on fantasticfiction.com (which is one of my favorite resources for looking up series order).

I will NEVER recommend an author who uses AI in any capacity. Writing is art and humanity, and there is no art or humanity in AI. If I’ve put them on this list, I’m confident they’ll never sell out.

Without further ado, here we go:

Skyla Dawn Cameron

Krista D. Ball

Lilith Saintcrow

Stephen Blackmoore

Ann Aguirre

Michelle Sagara

Devon Monk

Ilona Andrews

Nikita Gill

Stephanie Burgis
